As a first step in the planning procedure, last month of April the Planning Agreement for the expansion of Plaza Mayor and McArthurGlen Designer Outlet was published by Malaga Town Hall. The expansion, which entails a new GBA of 7,500 m2t in Plaza Mayor and 13,500 m2t for the Designer Outlet, is the last step in a two staged process initiated in 2014 and which first phase was inaugurated in february 2020 to great success.

The Agreement establishes the conditions on the development of the project, as well as the benefits to the city of Malaga and the infrstructure development plan, which includes the expansion of the Guadalmar road and the creation of the San Julián public park. Negotiations have lasted almost two years and have been lead by EdP’s planning team. The plan is to submit the Planning Amendment next July, and to inaugurate the buildings in 2024.
